Linda
Supervisor/Vet Tech/Community Outreach with Guido
I'm originally from New Jersey; I spent my summers on Lake Winnipesaukee. I moved to Colorado in 1986 and attended USC in Pueblo, Colorado. From there I moved to southern Colorado and began working as a veterinary technician in a practice for both large and small animals. I have been working as a veterinary technician for 16 years. I decided to move back to NH to be closer to my mom and dad who still have a house on the lake. My husband and I traveled here with our 4 dogs and 2 horses and bought a house in Tuftonboro. Animals have always been my passion; working in a shelter gives me the opportunity to help the truly homeless animals.
Colleen
Adoptions Counselor in Dog Kennel
I am pleased to be an employee here at the shelter. I have always had a special place in my heart for all kinds of animals. I share my home with four busy dogs! I also have a beautiful horse named Blaze (pictured with me). My days and nights are spent with animals (and I wouldn't want it any other way). I find sharing my love with animals to be rewarding. I could not think of a better job that would make me this happy.
Donna
Feline Coordinator
I have always loved every kind of animal. This is my dream job, being around cats and dogs all day is heaven to me. I’m married and have two beautiful kids. I enjoy metal detecting, driving the Kawasaki mule around the yard, snowmobiling and being at the lake.
Sharon
Administrative Coordinator
Hi! I'm the gal at the front desk. I have the pleasure of dealing with the public and the many other fine people involved in keeping our shelter home alive. Originally from Connecticut, my husband and I moved to Tuftonboro in '02 with our Blood Hound and Maine Coon kitty. Our other 3 kids are grown up and still in CT with the rest of our family. I feel so blessed to be doing this job. I'm just a small piece of the puzzle to help bring these animals to their forever homes.
Eugene
Honorary Employee, Volunteer
Eugene is a “Jack of all Trades” – he cleans cat cages, hoses out dog kennels, does tons and tons of laundry and loves to walk the dogs. When he is not “working” Eugene can be found sitting inside the dog kennels, helping new arrivals to adjust to their temporary home. Eugene also contributes very generously out of his own pocket to purchase cat condos and other special things for our dogs and cats. Sometimes, Eugene shows up at the shelter with rolls of paper towels and bottles of bleach – just because he knows how much the shelter needs these items. Eugene is the best!
GUIDO
Certified Therapy Dog, AKC Canine Good Citizen
Hello, My name is Guido. I am a 5 year old Great Pyrenees. I was born and raised in Southern Colorado where it was my job to protect all the ranch animals. After moving to New Hampshire with my mom, dad, and siblings, I needed a new job. I really love being around people so my mom decided I should be a therapy dog. Boy, I do like it. I have no problem laying around all day and having people pet and love on me. Stop by the shelter and visit me anytime. If you would like me to visit your facility, call my mom. She’s the Vet Tech here at LRHS. Hope to see you soon.
